Melissa Plourde Khoury is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the Lebanese American University in Byblos Lebanon.
She holds a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a MFA from Boston University. Both of her degrees are in Graphic Design.
Though originally from the United States she has resided in Lebanon since 2003. She specializes in teaching publication design, typography as well as design history and theory.
Besides teaching, she currently works as a design consultant with her husband.
"Translations" is her first major solo exhibition. This collection of personal artistic works integrates photography, digital imaging, textiles, print and word in a conceptual manner. In this compilation she translates her perspective on traditional Lebanese objects within a contemporary context.
